Maíz Soul by Tía Yaya

Beautiful Spanish music plays in a cozy Cafe style restaurant with outdoor patio seating. The building has big windows to let in loads of light. There are a couple of sofas, some dining tables and hightop seating. The food can be smelled from outside and it's insanely alluring! You could close your eyes and pick any menu item and would never pick wrong. They make great coffee as well

This place has really made it count. I’ve been to many Venezuelan places where the food is good, but is lacking the service, friendliness and coziness of a local place. However, they were able to hit every requirement and more. They went above and beyond. The food was amazing, i recommend the “Cowboy Arepa” with some chicha or Malta, also, if you are feeling like going out of your comfort zone, then go for a pabellón empanada. Food was 10/10 and would be back anytime!!!!

I picked up a to go order and wow. This place needs some business. The Arepa was filled with wonderfully seasoned meat. The Dark Glazed Beef Arepa. It’s packed with meat. I also had the Puerco + Queso Frito and it was also huge. All the ingredients mix today to form a delicious mix.

A Hidden Gem in Smyrna: Maíz Soul Delivers!, My recent visit to Maíz Soul by Tía Yaya was phenomenal. It's located in the Old Smyrna downtown area, the restaurant offers a cozy and clean atmosphere very family-friendly. For our meal, we ordered the Patacon, empanadas, Reina Pepiada, pastelitos, cachapas, churros and several natural fruitjuices, the best Nutella Signature coffee and more. The dishes were a burst of fresh flavors, with a delicious balance of sweet and savory. The service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly, and the portions were generous. Overall, I highly recommend Maíz Soul to anyone in the Smyrna area looking for authentic Venezuelan food with soul. I look forward to returning to try more items on their menu!

I have been wanting to visit this place for a while now. Yesterday was the day and it did not disappoint. I love the atmosphere they have. If you just want to have coffee with a friend and chill for a while this is your place to be. If you want to enjoy some delicious Venezuelan food this is also your place. I love their cachapas, empanadas and tequeños. My husband had an arepa which he said it was so tasty. I personally recommend this coconut with caramel drink which was so bomb!! The owners are so passionate about the food they cook and know how to treat their customers so well. You will truly feel like home. I can’t wait to be back again And of course I recommend it!

This was my first time eating here. I ordered the tequeños and the cowboy arepas. Both were life changing. The sauce with the tequeños was amazing. The chimichurri with the steak on the arepa was outstanding. I also ordered the churros and they were delicious. The environment was awesome and couldn’t ask for better service.

I don’t remember leaving a review on a restaurant, but this was soooo good. Food was fresh and full of flavor. The stuffed avocado was delicious. The mix of salty of the chicken and sweet of the plantains was an explosion in my mouth. My husband got the stuff arepas with shredded beef and they were massive and delicious! recommend coming here. It was great!

15/10! So honored Smyrna got such a delicious, soulful addition to the community! My cappuccino didn't play around (Pistachio RIM?? Are you kidding me?!), and the empanadas (I ordered the PABELLÓN and had to get another one...steak, cheese, fried plaintains). this place is so special, and offers a variety of Latin dishes to try that are so FLAVORFUL and perfect for breakfast or lunch. DEFINITELY COMING BACK!!
